Regularly grooming your pets acclimates them to human handling which is very important. Finding unusual bumps or lumps on your pet’s body can save their lives by early detection of potential health issues. Sometimes early detection isn’t enough, but it’s a step in the right direction. I’ve had several pets and have lost one to cancer. Even though the cancer was detected early, it was so aggressive that it spread quickly. Although I lost her as a result of this disease, I was able to provide her with more quality time.
I continue to do regular grooming on our current dogs. It’s always interesting to see how our dogs jocky for position when it’s time for brushing and gentle body massages. None of them really care for nail clipping or teeth brushing, but they put up with it. Pets really do love the one on one attention!
